West Akim Municipal Assembly Embarks on Revenue Mobilisation Exercise

The Hon. Municipal Chief Executive of West Akim Municipal Assembly, Mr Seth Oduro Boadu, has led a team comprising the Assembly staff to enforce payment of Temporary Structure Permit Renewal.

As part of mobilizing revenue for the development of the municipality the Assembly staff in teams have spread into the municipality to ensure that traders with temporary structures committed themselves to renew their trading permit.

The MCE in a preamble interaction with the task force urged the team to ensure that every defaulter in payment for the renewal renewed the trade agreement.

He has urged all defaulting traders to comply with the enforcement in order that their temporary structures were not locked to beckon their businesses to a halt.

The Municipal Coordinating Director, Mr. Paul MacOfori who was part of the team buttressed the MCE’s concern on ensuring that traders renewed their agreement.

So far most defaulting traders were in compliance with the exercise and had renewed the agreement.

Structures of those who could not pay had been locked pending access to their structures when they paid for the renewal.

Stickers for identification of renewal have been embossed on the structures of traders who have renewed their permits.

The exercise began a week ago and was ongoing.
