SEVERE ACUTE MALNUTRITION AT IT’S LOWEST POINT SINCE 2015
The Community-based management of Acute Malnutrition (CMAM) protocol has been used to manage children with severe acute malnutrition (SAM) in the municipality for more than six years now. Capacities of several staff have been built to manage SAM at the lowest point of service delivery since 2015. However, over the years, staffs have moved either for further studies whiles others are on transfer.
In addition, trained staff have failed mostly to pass on the skills they learnt to their other colleagues, creating a gap in capacity anytime they are absent. there is the need to appraise the programme, scale-up capacity building of staff in non-implementing regions, and refresh the staff in already trained regions across the country for smooth implementation.
