The Hon. Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Paulina Akabila, together with the Municipal Director of Education, Mrs. Loretta Akuah Ayisi, supported by the Municipal Coordinating Director, Mr. Moses Kobla Joshua, and officers from the Assembly and the Education Directorate, graced the launch of the Medaakye Regenerative School Meal Programme at Brekumanso.
The launch brought together Traditional Leaders, parents, teachers, schoolchildren and representatives of various partner organisations to celebrate the commencement of the programme, which will benefit pupils of Brekumanso M/A School and Brekumanso Islamic Basic School in a space of five years.
The five-year programme is an initiative of Beast Philanthropy and the West Akyem Cooperative Cocoa Farmers and Marketing Union, with support from the Rockefeller Foundation, CARE International, Gold Coast Nutrition Fund, Ghana Education Service, and the West Akim Municipal Assembly.
The Medaakye Regenerative School Meal Programme seeks to provide quality and nutritious meals to schoolchildren from KG 1 to JHS 3 in the two beneficiary schools throughout the five-year project period.
The initiative represents an important investment in the health, nutrition, education and overall well-being of children, while strengthening collaboration among communities, government institutions, development partners and local stakeholders.
