
The Paulina Akabila-led administration of the West Akim Municipal Assembly has taken another meaningful step towards empowering Persons with Disabilities (PWDs).
A total of 138 beneficiaries received various support items, including 57 deep freezers, 2 knitting machines, 3 double decker fridges, 2 pepper machines, 1 pumping machine, 15 bags of charcoal, 1 shoe making grinding machine, 1 chain saw, 1 cocoa spraying machine, 1 sandpaper and spraying machine, 17 Fufu pounding machines, 1 oven, 150 plastic chairs, 10 student mattress, 1 laptop and 60 Ice chest, among others. In addition, 41 PWDs received cash support to strengthen their income-generating activities.
The initiative, supported by the Hon. MP for Lower West Akim, Owen Kwame Frimpong, alongside traditional leaders, the clergy and security services, seeks to promote economic independence, strengthen livelihoods and enable PWDs to support their families with dignity.
