Under a calm morning sky and a spirit-filled atmosphere, the West Akim Municipal Assembly came alive as residents from all walks of life gathered for a deeply moving “National Prayer and Thanksgiving Day”, hosted by the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Paulina Akabila.
The event, held under the theme “Reflect, Reset and Renewal for National Prosperity,” brought together Christians, Muslims, and traditional leaders—united not by doctrine, but by a shared love for community and country. It was a rare and beautiful moment of spiritual reflection, collective gratitude, and renewed hope for the future of the municipality and Ghana at large.
From the first prayer to the last song, the atmosphere was electric—filled with sincerity, emotion, and a deep yearning for progress. Faith leaders led heartfelt prayers, each taking turns to seek divine guidance for the nation: wisdom for its leaders, peace in its communities, and strength for its citizens.
In her address, Hon. Paulina Akabila spoke with warmth and conviction, calling on the people of West Akim to embrace the spirit of the theme.
“Today is not just about praying,” she said. “It’s about taking a moment to look inward as individuals and as a people. Let us reflect on how far we’ve come, reset our hearts and minds from bitterness and division, and renew our commitment to building a better Ghana—starting right here in West Akim.”
Also present at the event was the Member of Parliament for West Akim, Hon. Owen Kwame Frimpong, who urged citizens to adopt a positive and proactive work ethic in support of the President’s reset agenda for national development.
In all it was a beautiful spectacle to behold, as all the faith-based organizations in the municipality came together to pray for West Akim and our nation Ghana.
