As part of ensuring the safety of the front-line workers of the COVID-19 in the municipality, the West Akim Municipal Assembly has donated Personal Protective Equipments to the Municipal Health Directorate. The Personal Protective Equipments presented were; 1, 200 pieces of disposable gloves, 200 pieces of locally made nose masks, 10 pieces of overall gowns. Others were; 10 pieces of Face shield, 4 pieces of Infrared thermometer.
The rest of the PPEs donated were, 10 pairs of Wellington Boots, and 20 pieces of dustbins. The Hon. Municipal Chief Executive, Seth Oduro Boadu who presented the items said there was the need to protecting the front-line health workers of the deadly pandemic. The MCE lauded the health workers on what he described as their relentless effort in working in the midst of the pandemic. He urged the health workers to continue to avail themselves to ensuring that the municipality achieved a feat over the deadly pandemic.
Dr. Samuel A. Boateng, the Head of the Municipal Health Directorate who received the items on behalf of the Asamankese Government Hospital, expressed gratitude to the Assembly, adding that the donation was timely. He assured the Assembly of the continuous readiness of the front-line workers in availing themselves to the duty call of the fight against the pandemic.
The West Akim Municipal Coordinating Director, Mr. Paul McOfori, used the occasion to commend the Municipal Health Directorate on what he described as working hard to ensuring that the municipality was safe from the pandemic.
