As part of measures stipulated to forestall any possible epidemic in the municipality, the management of West Akim Municipal Assembly, has conducted medical screening for all ready food vendors/handlers against communicable diseases such as TB, Typhoid, among others.

The exercise which lasted from June to July 2023 and was organized in the three zonal councils namely Brekumanso Zone, Osenase Zone, and Asamankese, was led by the West Akim Municipal Environmental Health outfit whose head is Madam Melvin Potakey.
