MCE VISITS BECE CENTRES IN WEST AKIM MUNICIPALITY

The Honourable Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Seth Oduro Boadu, together with a team comprising the Coordinating Director for West Akim Municipal Assembly, Mr Moses Kobla Joshua, the Director for the Municipal Education Directorate, Madam Lorreta Akuah Ayisi (Mrs), together with some workers of the assembly and the media has toured all the BECE centres in the municipality.

Four centres comprising Asamankese Senior High School, St. Thomas Senior Technical School, Osenase Methodist, and Brekumanso Islamic were designated for the BECE siting.

A total of 2,227 with a segregation of 1,167 females and 1,060 males were sitting for the 2023 Basic Education Certificate Examination in the West Akim Municipality.

The Honourable Municipal Chief Executive, addressing the students at the various centres, encouraged the candidates not to panic and be intimidated by anything.

He assured them of a welcoming atmosphere as all invigilators were well trained and ready not to cause any form of panicking and intimidating scenes. He further urged all candidates to adhere to all the norms binding formal examination sittings.

He again made it known to the candidates that much was expected of them this year as the last two preceding badges that sat for 2021, and 2022 BECE ranked 8th, and 4th respectively in the Eastern Region of Ghana.

In his engagement with the teachers who were present at the various centres, Mr Seth Oduro Boadu advised all the teachers to refrain from any form of practices and behaviours that were bad. Such uncalled-for behaviours will negatively impact the lives of the candidates, the municipality and the teachers themselves as there exist such clear sanctions awaiting anyone who will fall victim.

Management and Staff of West Akim Municipal Assembly wished the BECE candidates the very best of luck, and wishes, adding that all their efforts be crowned with victory.
