The West Akim Municipal Assembly has disinfected the main markets in the municipality. The fumigation exercise took place at the main market areas of Asamankese, Owuram, Osenase, Akanteng and other areas. The main lorry station in Asamankese was not left out with some portions of trading centres having its share of the disinfection exercise. The Hon. Municipal Chief Executive of West Akim Municipal Assembly Seth Oduro Boadu who led the team proved his skill in fumigation by taking some portions to fumigate.

The Municipal Coordinating Director, Mr. Paul Mac Ofori, ZoomLion, NADMO security agencies comprising the Police, Immigration, Fire Service, environmental health workers, and some heads of department were in attendance for the exercise. In an interaction with the media, the Hon. MCE commended traders in the municipality on what he termed their compliance with government’s directives to have vacated the markets for the exercise.

He did not leave out on his commendation to all those who were in attendance for the exercise. The MCE used the occasion to urge everyone on the municipality to be adherents to the preventive measures stipulated for the COVID-19.According to him, so far, the municipality had not recorded any positive case of COVID-19. That, he said was encouraging, adding that with God the deadly pandemic would soon subside.

He called on all inhabitants to complement government’s effort in fighting the pandemic.
