On 13th May 2026, the Ghana Enterprise Agency (GEA) of the West Akim Municipal Assembly, with support from the Mastercard Foundation, presented Business-In-A-Box starter kits to 31 beneficiaries at the premises of the Municipal Assembly.

The items distributed included juicers, kitchen scales, fruit juice bottles, and other essential business materials aimed at supporting beneficiaries to establish and grow their enterprises.

Addressing the beneficiaries, Hon. Paulina Akabila encouraged them to make productive use of the equipment provided, remain disciplined, manage their time effectively, and stay resilient in the face of challenges. She further disclosed that a monitoring team would regularly visit their workplaces to provide guidance, support, and assess the progress of their businesses.

The Municipal Budget Analyst, Mr. Billa Iddrisu, educated participants on the importance of business registration and compliance, while Madam Bernice Nyarko congratulated the beneficiaries and advised them to properly maintain the equipment to ensure its long-term use and sustainability.

The initiative forms part of ongoing efforts to promote entrepreneurship, job creation, and economic empowerment within the municipality.

The Assembly extended its congratulations to all beneficiaries and wished them success in their entrepreneurial journey.
