The Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Paulina Akabila, and the Member of Parliament for Lower West Akim Constituency, Hon. Owen Kwame Frimpong, together with traditional leaders and residents, have cut the sod for Phase One of major developmental projects aimed at improving education, healthcare, and access to potable water across the municipality.
The projects include:
โ€ข A 6-unit classroom block with ancillary facilities at Bunsu
โ€ข Construction and furnishing of 1 No. 2-unit KG block at Bunsu
โ€ข A CHPS compound with nursesโ€™ quarters at Odjarde
โ€ข 7 mechanized boreholes with overhead tanks at Cocoa Station, Adiembra, Bunsu, Akanteng, Akwadum, the Assembly premises, and the MCEโ€™s bungalow
The water projects are expected to be completed in 3 months, while the school and CHPS facilities will be ready in 6 months.
Hon. Akabila noted that this marks a renewal of hope and a new chapter of progress, while Hon. Frimpong urged a strong maintenance culture and encouraged local employment during construction. He also assured residents of plans to fix the deplorable roads in the various communities.
