The Head of the Local Government Service, Professor Lord Mensah, on 15th January 2026, undertook a familiarization visit to the West Akim Municipal Assembly as part of his five-day working tour of selected Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies (MMDAs) in the Eastern Region.
The visit formed part of his post-appointment engagements following his assumption of office in June 2025, and aimed at gaining first-hand understanding of the operations of the Local Government Service at the regional and municipal levels.
It also provided an opportunity to recognize achievements made by the Assembly and to better appreciate the challenges impacting service delivery within the Municipality. The engagement was expected to deepen collaboration between the Office of the Head of the Local Government Service (OHLGS) and the West Akim Municipal Assembly, identify operational gaps, and generate practical insights to inform ongoing reforms, capacity building, and improved service delivery across the Local Government Service.
