The Third Ordinary General Assembly Meeting of the 2nd Session of the 9th Assembly of the West Akim Municipal Assembly has successfully been held as the year draws to a close.
Key agenda items included the Welcome Address by the Hon. Presiding Member, adoption of minutes from the previous meeting, discussion of matters arising, presentation and approval of the Executive Committee Report, as well as questions and motions. All items were thoroughly deliberated.
In accordance with the Local Governance Act, 2016 (Act 936) as amended, the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Paulina Akabila presented the Executive Committee Report, which was discussed and adopted by the House. Major recommendations approved included streetlight installation in inner communities, continuation of the Obuodwan Trade Fair, provision of start-up kits for apprentices, approval of the 2026–2029 Medium-Term Development Plan, development of key tourist sites, reconstruction of defective lockable stores at the Asamankese Lorry Station, ratification of the 2026 Composite Budget, regulation of agrochemical shops, and dedicated funding for Assembly-led agricultural projects under the Feed Ghana Initiative.
The Hon. MCE commended Management and staff for their dedication and reaffirmed her commitment to inclusive development, improved service delivery, and local economic growth.
